With the final results now published, congratulations to winner Zvonko Jelacic, Ante kovacevic second and GBR’s Rob Walsh third.
Rob, sailed an exceptionally consistent series which saw him sail the entire regatta in A fleet, the only skipper to do so. After a very hard fought regatta, Zvonko and Ante used home water advantage to take the first two positions with Rob sailing a brilliant last day to hold off Guillermo Beltri, full results can be found here
GBR’s Chris Harris finished a very respectable 9th position, a great achievement after a dissapointing first day where he was 27th overall!
Tony Edwards (1st Grand Grand Master) yet again finished in the top twenty in 18th position after a close battle with Paul Allen who finished 20th at his first major champs.
Graham Bantock finished 22nd (1st Grand Master), Trevor Binks 26th and Simon Clarke in 28th.
For those who have been trying to keep track of the championships, news from official sources has been hard and at times slow to come by, Simon Clarke has kept the GBR IOM twitter feed topped up with the goings on, thanks Simon with Paul Allen and Chris Harris keeping all informed on facebook, thanks guys.
Slightly further down the order was Derek Priestley with some new boat issues pushing the seasoned skipper further down the pecking order than normal.
Vernon Appleton finished just above mid fleet with some good B fleet performances with Bob Conner finishing the regatta on a high to make B fleet.
Well done to all GBR skippers.
